Designing Websites in Flash

Adobe Flash is an important multimedia program that creates different kinds of interactive and dynamic objects for the web. It can also create movies for the web. It’s not a dedicated design program but it can make graphic elements like web page design. It does not have advanced features like other programs, but your website might need some additional simple designs that Adobe Flash can give. When you design your website using Flash, it is separate from programming or designing a webpage. There are certain things you must do to design your webpage using Flash.

Preparation

The first thing you must do is click the “edit” button so that yo0u can set the size of how big or small you want your design to be. The “edit” button is in the properties window when you have not selected anything yet. The usual webpage has sizes that are from 800 to 1,000 pixels when it comes to width. After that, you can click the color box so that you can change the color of your stage. The color box can be found right next to the “stage” in the properties window. When you design a website, the best color of choice is black or white to make it more formal. Then, you must select the “edit grid” which can be found in the “grid” sub-menu of your “edit” menu. This will enable you to set up your document and align your webpages properly. Set the width of each column to organize your website properly.

Designing

You must first create a rough sketch of your design by drawing it on a scratch paper. This will give you a guide while you design your website on the computer. This will also make your work easier. You can make colored boxes by using the rectangle tool in the toolbar. To adjust the color, select the color window. This will also allow you to make gradients. Click the rectangular tool and then hold on it. This will allow you to make a drop-down menu which will allow you to select other kinds of shapes like circles and polygons. After that, you can utilize the line tool to create different kinds of lines with different thickness. You can use the properties window to change the thickness of the lines. After that, you can put text on your page by clicking the text tool. The text is a very important part of your webpage. Select the properties window so that you can change the color, size and font of your texts. This window will also allow you to add more effects to your text like drop shadow etc. for custom drawings, you can select the paintbrush tool. Use this tool with your digital pen if you have one. This will make your art look more realistic.

Export

After designing, you can click the “:export image” which you can find at the “export” sub-menu from your “file” menu. Specify your file name. Then adjust the size of your DPI and image.
